28th July, 2008 After much soul searching, we decided that our 21 year old son needed a best friend. So our search began. I made so many phone calls without success and it was during one of these calls I was recommended to give Noreen a ring. Noreen was fantastic with her advice of important questions to ask breeders and although she had no puppies available at the time she suggested that I go through the process of completing one of her application forms (I called it a 6 page resume!!!) – because “you never know what might happen” she said. And happen it did!! Noreen sent our paperwork to Amanda & Scott Bradfield (Steviejosh Kennels) and Amanda offered us our baby boy, “Logan”. The application process Noreen has in place is an essential tool in ensuring that puppies are placed with suitable parents. Thanks Noreen for your recommendation to Amanda & Scott, but most importantly thank you for your wise words. 25-Dec-2007 Dearest Nor, Since leaving your care. I have been enjoying my new life in Black Rock. We got through the first 6 weeks with the usual puppy problems. Toilet training took time but got better once I started living outside more. Haven’t had too many mistakes.
Constant puppy photos, articles, information & titbits sent via email, kept my excitement at bay as I awaited my pup's arrival. This was fantastic as I was able to make sure I was absolutely ready for the pup when we did pick him up. I was also made to feel comfortable to call Noreen with any questions, & I had a few!!! 03-Apr-06 When Margaret & I first thought about a new addition to our family we had decided on a German Shepherd puppy. We wanted a dog of good breeding, nature, & soundness. Noreen’s website provided a lot of information to assist anybody to look after a German Shepherd. We concluded that she would be a good breeder to contact. Our first contact confirmed that the dog’s well-being was paramount to Noreen. Noreen, having the puppies' best interests at heart, inquired about our family & how a German Shepherd puppy would fit in with our lifestyle. From that time she kept us fully informed & provided us with sound information to bring up a German Shepherd puppy. Noreen adores her dogs & is committed to producing excellent blood lines & very happy, healthy little puppies. Everything was up front & very professional, the puppies were healthy & happy without fear of strangers, the housing for all the dogs were clean & uncluttered & the dogs welfare was your only concern. Nothing was too much trouble, & my questions were always answered, I was very much impressed with the amount of information that was also available to me, if all German Shepherd breeders in Australia are as dedicated as Noreen & Alan are, then I feel the future of German Shepherds in Australia will be one of excellence. Approximately four years ago some friends directed me to Noreen after I had purchased a female that was from Kazkiri Kennels. That female is Kazkiri Divine Miss M, Noreen’s first Australian Champion. We have become very close friends over this period of time, exchanging information & knowledge on the German Shepherd Dog. Cino (Kazkiri Pacino) came into our lives at the perfect moment. Last year, within three weeks of each other, two of our three dogs died. They were both German Shepherd crosses & we loved their intelligence & their big hearts. On arriving back in Australia, after working in Europe, I impulsively searched the web for German Shepherd's & fell instantly for the gorgeous puppy whose photo appeared in Noreen's web site. Cino has had a very loving beginning to his life & his capacity for love seems endless. Noreen's commitment to good breeding in a loving environment shows wonderfully in Cino.

Purchasing a puppy is a very hard & most times a judgemental thing, having to consider blood lines, health issues. kennel history etc, & it is so reassuring to have someone that is genuinely interested in you & the well being of her puppies.
One always hopes to find a friend in life who understands them, has the same interests, humour, etc. I feel a bond not only between Noreen, but also one of her offspring, Chi Chi. I have been fortunate in obtaining two best friends. Noreen taught me the meaning of patience & I was prepared to wait as long as it took to have one of her puppies. Chi Chi came into our lives on 26th April 2004 through a friend of Noreen. Fortunately for us, we were in the right place at the right time. My conversations with Noreen, her support, guidance & caring nature have made the "rearing" of our young 23.5kg puppy/young lady, a beautiful journey. Chi Chi loves being with us, no matter where we go or what we do. A big thank you to Kazkiri Kennels & to you Noreen for helping to fulfill our hearts with love & happiness. Chi Chi has a few words to say as she's probably the best one to say how things are. "I love my mummy & daddy, they take me every where they go. I have a godmother who I see twice a week, two cats to chase after, a new man friend called a vet & he's good fun & even gives me treats if I sit quietly. I go to the Murray River beach, but don't like it much because the water doesn't move. The ducks are fun, they waddle in front of me & I have to sit & watch. I can't understand why I cant play with them. We go for walks every day to check out the neighbours. Some of them have beautiful flowers, but I'm not allowed to bring them home. In my back yard I didn't like Mummy's landscaping so I've changed that with burrows & tunnels, replanted the geraniums & moved the lavender from the laundry door. That's my entrance & I prefer it plant free. I now go to school every Sunday & meet up with my mates. We learn all these new things & it's a very tiring morning. I need a sleep after that. When we first decided we wanted a German Shepherd the hunt was on to find the perfect breeder. Someone who was dedicated & loved what they were doing. We contacted a few breeders & we decided that Noreen was the breeder for us. Noreen is an extremely friendly person who is easy to ask any question no matter how silly you might think it sounds. As soon as Vroni was pregnant, we emailed & visited until the puppies were 8 weeks old, getting to know Vroni, her puppies & Noreen very well. In fact all of Noreen’s German Shepherds are beautiful & have the best temperaments. Then the day finally came to take our girl home. Kess was not fazed by the car trip, she was quite content to sleep the entire way home in the foot well of the car. However now that she has grown (which didn't take long at all) she no longer fits in the foot well. Kess loves to take things that don't belong to her (like our slippers, shoes, cushions, pot plants & especially the car keys) but she is slowly getting the idea that not everything belongs to her, & we are learning not to leave such things within her reach. Kess interacts very well with other people & the bigger dogs at the German Shepherd Dog club in Keilor where she has her puppy training which is going quite well. Kess is quite a quick learner, already mastering sit, drop & left & right paw. Kess also quite enjoys interacting with my parents two miniature poodles, Ruby & Holly (although I believe that Kess may think that they are little white sheep!). Kess is already bigger than them so they are finding her licking their faces a little daunting. But I'm sure it won't be too long when they will all be playing together. Thanks again Noreen for the best puppy in the world. We can't wait to see what she does next, but we know we will love every minute of it & we are very proud to own a Kazkiri puppy. We purchased two puppies from Noreen Symes, not only the best breeder in town but a lovely natured person also. We were communicating with Noreen months before the puppies were even conceived!, & straight away we warmed to her & her great personality & knowledge of German Shepherds. Once the bitch was pregnant, we spoke to Noreen on a weekly basis, eager to know how everything was going, she was always happy to talk no matter what. When we first decided on getting a GSD puppy, we had already decided that we wanted a bitch with an excellent temperament. We had spoken to other breeders & even viewed a couple of kennels before we came to Kazkiri Kennels. To begin with we were extremely impressed with the welcome Noreen gave us & how she immediately invited us in for tea & to meet Shaq, who is the most amazing dog. After spending over an hour & a half talking about what we were looking for in a puppy, & our own situation, we knew that Noreen was a committed & conscientious breeder who cared deeply for her dogs. Her aim isn't to sell puppies, it's to make sure that all her dogs are placed in happy homes with people who love them & are responsible dog owners. After chatting around the kitchen table, Shaq sitting on the lounge, we had spoken about Shaq's personal strengths & how his mates are selected & why the sire & dam suit each other to optimise the characteristics of the pups. We looked around the kennels at 7-week old pups & Noreen suggested several upcoming litters where Shaq was the sire, because we'd already decided that we wanted one of his puppies. She recommended Vonleah Kennels to us, run by Graham & Liz Buckley, whose dog Quella "Opal" had a very similar temperament to Shaq - loving, patient & extremely family oriented - & after meeting "Opal" we fell in love with her too. We ended up getting Vonleah Onyx "Schafer" who has proved to be just like her parents & is absolutely amazing. I can't imagine a better or more loving dog. She's grown into a beautiful bitch, & we're now thinking of breeding from her depending how her breeding survey goes - she's only 14 months old - & Noreen has offered us all the assistance we could possibly want. She has been so helpful & informative & has been a constant source of referral & has genuinely been interested in us & Schafer's progress. We can't say enough about how helpful she has been. Dear Noreen, This letter is to let you know just how pleased I am with our new member of the family. Shere Khan (Prince) has settled in & thrived since the first day. Prince's temperament is excellent. He is very steady under various situations: the whipper-snipper is something to investigate whilst it is going; he was asleep on the family room steps when I did the mowing & didn't budge; the broom is a challenge to him & he doesn't back off. Stella took him to Genevieve's Kindergarten after being with us for 2 weeks. Imagine a 10 week old pup in a situation where it is the centre of attention of 30 small children. The kids were sitting in a circle & Prince was introduced to them one by one, & he took it in his stride, whereas a lesser dog would have been "freaked" out. His learning ability is astonishing for his age (12 weeks). Just a few examples are that Prince comes on his name; I whistled him when he was out of sight & he came racing up to me; he is now going & sitting by the door when he wants to go out & eliminate. Knowing that you are a part of the Breed Improvement Schemes, then as a Breeder you are doing your utmost to ensure the Breed's longevity into the future. I am thoroughly delighted with Prince & his many qualities. Noreen, you are to be congratulated with your approach & dedication to achieve a German Shepherd that anyone can be proud to own. When my older German Shepherd fell ill over the Summer with auto immune problems I asked my vet what should I do and she told me it was time to buy a puppy. As heart breaking as it was knowing I had to retire my beautiful boy from all activities which involved exercise, I knew she was right. I then developed a wish list of what attributes I would like my new puppy to have. Must be of sound mind and exceptional temperament, must be structurally sound, must have good conformation, must have good pigment and colour, must have good prey drive & must have plush coat. On a trip to Melbourne I mentioned my wish list to Noreen and she said she did know of a bitch in whelp which I could tick off most, if not all of my wish list. Through Noreen I was recommended as possible new puppy owner (after completing the application) with Amanda & Scott Bradfield (Steviejosh Kennels) and we were offered our new puppy ‘Star’. Star is everything we could have wished for and our family couldn’t be happier. Thank you to Noreen for your recommendation to Amanda & Scott and also to Amanda & Scott for raising such a well adjusted & healthy puppy. I would thoroughly recommend the advice & any puppies associated with Kazkiri Kennels.
